Topic: Recalling the pro-life movement in Massachusetts since the Value of Life Committee in 1972, Phil Moran reflects upon Roy Scarpato?s 48 years as a leader. Roy was the voice of reason, and a warrior for the cause, which included Founder, President, Treasurer and Chairman of Massachusetts Citizens for Life. He also found the Pro- Life Legal Defense Fund of Massachusetts and the National Right to Life Committee. First big accomplishment was the Doyle-Flynn bill in 1979 prohibiting state government from paying for abortions, which was later overturned by activist MA Supreme Judicial Court. A Boston Latin School and MIT educated electrical engineer, he was married to his high school sweetheart Anne Scannell for 63 years.
